Sylvia Katunge the Chairperson at the fit start foundation is compassionate and determined individual who grew up in a village where children often missed school due to lack of resources.  Her Experiences shaped her unwavering commitment to breaking the cycle of harsh realities. Sylvia’s mission is to create comprehensive  programs that address not only physical and educational needs but also prioritize mental and emotional well-being. She envisions a community where no child goes hungry, every child has access to education and their emotional health is nurtured, enabling them to thrive and build brighter future. So far, Sylvia has dedicated her time to projects focused on education, climate action, youth empowerment and promoting sustainable farming practices among women and youth to enhance environmental resilience and food security. Through her work she fosters an inclusive approach to community development focused on empowerment and development projects that empower and create long-term benefits to the stakeholders.

The world is evolving rapidly and in order to thrive in an increasingly competitive environment, the youth and women need more than just academic knowledge but need to be empowered physically, mentally, and emotionally. At fit start foundation, we believe in empowering young people and women with the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to excel in sports, agriculture and education. By fostering holistic development, we are preparing them to not just survive, but to lead and inspire positive change in the world. Through our programs, we aim to create a generation that is not only equipped for success but also motivated to make a meaningful impact.

Fauzia Hussein is the founder, and a board member at the fitstart foundation is a dedicated leader focused on youth empowerment, emphasizing the importance of sports, wellness, education, career development and mental health. She is a passionate advocate for women and youth empowerment, focusing on creating opportunities for her community. Fauzia supports programs in education, entrepreneurship, sports and sustainable agriculture aiming to equip women and youth with opportunities and resources for long-term success. She is committed to improving access to clean water, developing mentorship and training programs and breaking barriers to quality education and empowerment in Women and youth. Through the foundation, she builds resilience through physical activities encouraging young people to adopt healthy habits and building a solid foundation early in life while they still have energy and time. Fauzia has collaborated with various organizations such as the Jalang’o super league, Waziri super cup and the Younger Kibwezi FC to deliver the foundations mission. She also has held mentorship programs and workshops for the youth in leadership and career development.
